You can go hot air ballooning all year round. Each season offers different colors and landscapes.
To fully appreciate the experience, the ideal solution is 4 flights, one for each season.
Our advice is to try this experience at least once. You’ll want to do it again.

The hot air balloon is a fantastic means of transport, but it can only fly when winds are at their most stable, because the balloon is steered only by following the air currents. This is only possible in the early morning and late afternoon, because the heating and cooling of the earth create thermal winds which build up during the day and tend to calm down in the late afternoon. Not all areas can be flown in the afternoon. In fact, in Tuscany and Lazio, flights are only possible in the early morning, precisely because these are hilly areas where the thermal winds can be quite strong. In Lombardy and Piedmont, weather permitting, afternoon flights are possible. This is judged according to the season and temperatures.

The flight itself lasts about an hour, but the entire experience will take at least 2½ to 3 hours, from the moment you arrive at the meeting[EB1] point until you return to the launch site.

Dress for the season, not as if you were flying. The temperature in the air will be better than on the ground. We suggest that you wear comfortable clothing and shoes. The hot air balloon flies in the wind and you move with it, so you don’t feel any pressure on your face. We recommend wearing boots or hiking shoes, as you will be landing in terrain that is often uneven, wet or muddy; do not wear high-heeled shoes or flip-flops.

The flight in a hot-air balloon is an overflight, and it ranges from altitudes of 500 feet to 5000 feet, but these altitudes are determined by various factors. The pilot will decide on the altitude during the flight, but it is also dictated by the wind conditions on the day of your flight.

If a flight is cancelled due to unsuitable weather conditions or events beyond our control, it can be rescheduled for another day at no additional cost.

If the weather is bad, the flight will be cancelled; there are no flights when there are strong winds, rain, fog or mist. Maximum safety is the priority, and it is the pilot who, on his authority, decides whether conditions are safe or not.

Our company is covered by the aviation insurance required by law, and is constantly monitored by the ENAC – the Italian Civil Aviation Authority.

The hot air balloon is one of the safest means of flying in the world. As a means of transport, it is extremely simple. There is no turbulence or air pockets, and it only flies when the air is at its most stable. The Balloon Team Italia company is certified and monitored by ENAC – Italian Civil Aviation Authority – guaranteeing maximum safety for all passengers. Our pilots are all professionals who undergo constant checks and training to improve their standing.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Pregnant women are not permitted to fly. We advise against flying for children under one meter in height because they cannot see above the edge of the basket. Those who have recently undergone surgery, or have serious problems with a limb are forbidden to fly. People who weigh over 110 kg must notify us, as a very important safety requirement.

The balloons are made in modules, and can accommodate groups of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and up to 16 people at one time. The balloon modules are organized according to the number of passengers that will be flying that given day.

The distance will really depend on the wind. Sometimes it can be 30 km, and sometimes only 3 km. Each day is always different, and at the end of the flight, we will take you all back to the launch site.

This means of transport is the real adventure. We launch from one field, and land in another, but we can never know exactly which one, because the route is decided by the winds. Each flight is unique and different from the day before.
